Bagno Vignoni publishing capital with The Colors of the Book. September 9 and 10

The Colors of the Book – a review initiated by the Municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia with the coordination of the portal toscanalibri.it – animates Bagno Vignoni with books and literary encounters, the spa town so beloved by intellectuals and artists.

The Colors of the Book
return to enliven Bagno Vignoni, a thermal jewel of the Val d’Orcia UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the 14th edition of the event dedicated entirely to the promotion of small and medium publishing. The event is desired by the Municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia, a finalist for Italian Book Capital 2023, with the coordination of the portal toscanalibri.it. Signing the illustration is cartoonist Emilio Giannelli.

Guests include journalists, writers, activists, historians and TV personalities who will take turns on stage in the garden of Moretto Square on Saturday and Sunday afternoon with round-the-clock presentations offering their latest publications. An opportunity to meet and exchange views with the Tuscan and Italian publishing world to address topics such as the ecological transition to the beauty of the beautiful country, from the memory of Giovanni Falcone 31 years after the Capaci Massacre to the analysis of some of the events that have marked Italian history, passing through women’s self-determination and current political events.

Sunday morning also unfailing appointment with the Passeggiata d’Autore from San Quirico d’Orcia to Bagno Vignoni.

Scheduled in the two-day event is the market exhibition of used, antique and second-hand books in the Moretto Square with selected booksellers and exhibitors from all over Italy.

Also present for the second year in a row is thePrinters’ Workshop – Emporium Athestinum Cultural Association with small printing presses that will allow visitors to become printers for a weekend, preparing personalized bookmarks and posters.

The portal toscanalibri.it then brings to display and sale volumes on Tuscany, its stories and its territory by Tuscan publishers with the aim of enhancing Tuscan small and medium publishing by bringing it to the attention of the general public.
